Ex Caribbean Wings 2011/2012
EXERCISE CARIBBEAN WINGS 2011-2012 is a Joint Service Adventurous Sail Training Expedition taking place from 26 September 11 – 10 June 12. The aim of the exercise is to develop adequate rigour, robustness, initiative and leadership to deliver resilience that military personnel require on operations. It is open to all Regular and Reserve Forces personnel.
The Joint Service Adventurous Sail Training Centre (JSASTC) will deploy HMSTC DISCOVERER, a 22 metre (67ft) Sail Training Craft (STC). The STC will make passage from Gosport via the Canary Islands and crossing the Atlantic to Grenada. It will then sail to St Lucia where it will be based for a further 3 legs. It will then sail North to St Thomas via Antigua in the US Virgin Islands where it will be based for a further 2 legs before returning to Gosport via Miami, Charleston, New York and Halifax in Canada.
