RADAR
Sailing and motor yachts increasingly have radar sets on board. The International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea state that if you have a radar on board, you must know how to use it. This course satisfies the requirements of some categories of commercial work afloat. The aim is to teach students to use small boat Radar to assist decision-making in navigation, pilotage and collision avoidance. The RYA course consists of one day in the classroom. At JSASTC this is followed by a one day practical session in the Solent on a purpose-fitted 10 metre, twin engined launch.
