Diesel Engine
Engine failure, combined with insufficient knowledge to achieve a restart, is the main cause of lifeboat callouts. Familiarity with basic engine/gearbox operation, maintenance and engine care may ensure that you are not included in lifeboat statistics. This one-day course provides an awareness of the main systems of a marine diesel engine. It gives you the knowledge to take simple measures to prevent mechanical breakdown at sea and to rectify simple defects, such as fuel starvation, which do not require workshop support. The cost of the course is £10 Download, print and send form |
