Sailing Courses
JSASTC employs the RYA Sail Cruising and Yachtmaster Scheme as the standard for training courses. This has the added advantage of providing internationally recognised certification at all levels of practical and theoretical sailing achievement. The scheme is based on 5 levels of practical assessment which are Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Yachtmaster Coastal, Yachtmaster Offshore and Yachtmaster Ocean. These can be linked to 3 classroom-based navigation and seamanship courses which are Day Skipper and Yachtmaster Shorebased and Yachtmaster Ocean Shorebased. Several other supporting courses are provided such as diesel engine, short range radio, First Aid etc. See the link at the bottom of the Home Page for the JSAT Offshore Sailing Scheme.
All JSASTC Sailing Courses, practical and shorebased, are listed on the right hand side of this page. Select a course to view course description, details, content, timings etc. The course description is followed by a list of the course numbers and dates from the current year's Training Programme. This specific course information can be taken to the Course Application page at the Main Menu for on-line application or the application form can be printed for posting through the mail system.
