About the Royal Navy Lawn Tennis Association
The RNLTA exists for one reason alone - to promote Navy Tennis. This means identifying new players; providing coaching - from grass roots all the way up to Inter-Services and Combined Services standards; arranging fixtures and tournaments; securing sponsorship and funding from DNPD, the Sports Lottery and others; engaging with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation to secure the provision and upkeep of tennis courts and facilities; and much more besides.
Navy Tennis should be easily accessible by anyone with an interest - our vision for 2015 is to be ‘An inclusive and vibrant Association in which all members are able to fulfil their potential.’ If we put prospective players off then we will have failed. The committee is elected by members of the association - and that means anyone in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines that is interested. All you need to do is to come along to the Annual General Meeting, which will be advertised on this website, and cast your vote. We always need new people to give up some of their time to help run the association, and perhaps to progress through various positions of responsibility up to and including being the Chairman! Here is a link to the RNLTA Constitution.
Navy Tennis should, above all, be fun. If you have any ideas on how to bring more fun-factor into our sport, then please get in touch using the "contact us" link at the top right hand side of this page.
