RN Badminton Association

Welcome to the official Royal Navy Badminton Assoication’s web page.

The RNBA exists to encourage participation and competition in Badminton within the Royal Navy (inc. Royal Marines).  It is also committed to improving the standard of play through regular coaching.

The home of RN Badminton is at MWS Collingwood, although most of the sports establishments will cater for badminton at some level or other.  Indeed, we are also regular visitors to the National Badminton Centre at Milton Keynes, which is a top class facility dedicated to badminton.

The RNBA welcomes all standards, from complete beginner to county player.  If you are a beginner you will be encouraged to attend the badminton clubs which are run by either PT staff or our committee members.  There will be a club near you so why not give them a call now – see our contacts page for your nearest regional rep.  We also encourage stronger players to attend these clubs, but the Secretary can provide guidance on civilian clubs in the major port/ air station areas for those with higher aspirations.  At every level we will be looking at developing your game and encourage participation in the numerous RN Badminton Tournaments we hold across the country.  See our fixtures and events page for the latest information.

The RNBA has also taken players around the world, from South Africa, Canada, Jersey, Gibraltar to the Isle of Man.  Perhaps you could be on the next tour?

We are always on the lookout for dedicated members who want to help promote badminton in the Royal Navy.  Whether you are a county player, or, like most of us, just keen players who want to get the most out of the sport and think you have something to offer, why not get involved and join our committee.  Contact the Secretary for more information.

The RNBA encourages participation and competition in Badminton within the RN and is also committed to improving the standard of play through regular coaching. All standards are catered for, from complete beginner to county player. Beginners are encouraged to attend the badminton clubs which are run by most major shore establishments.

More advanced players are also encouraged to attend these clubs, but the Secretary can provide guidance on civilian clubs in the major port/air station areas for those with higher aspirations. The RNBA holds coaching days, command tournaments, RN championship, RN/county matches and provides a mixed team to play in the Inter-Services competition. Players of all standards are welcome at command tournaments and the RN Championship.
