Welcome to DMSTG Aldershot Field Gun Crew
The Defence Medical Services Training Group (DMSTG) is located at Keogh Barracks Aldershot with satellite units at Birmingham City University, Whittington Barracks, Lichfield and Fort Blockhouse, Gosport. The training element of the Joint Medical Command is Commanded by Group Captain Alison Amos RAF. DMSTG delivers high quality medical training to all Defence Medical Service personnel to meet the requirements of the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force and support their front line Commanders.
DMSTG is a tri-service establishment and delivers training covering the full range of medical specialities from Phase 2 Common Core and Single Service Medical Assistant and Combat Medical Technician training through to nurse training and courses for Medical Officers, Medical Services Officers and Dentists.
As in previous years the DMSTG Field Gun crew reflects this diversity with crew members drawn from Permanent Staff, students, Non-Commissioned and Commissioned Officers from all three Services.
Several of the DMSTG crew have recently returned from Operational tours including Op Herrick and a number of trainees running in the crew will be deploying to Afghanistan once they join their units on completion of training in the next few weeks.
The DMSTG Field Gun crew is sponsored by Intraining for the fifth year in a row. The Intraining Group believe in training that enables all to fulfil their full potential: Training that transfers from the classroom to real work situations.
Intraining supports and delivers the Apprenticeship framework with DMSTG at Keogh Barracks and is responsible for the delivery and certification of the key-skills, functional skills and technical certificate aspect of the health apprenticeship and assessing and certificating the Health Diploma (competency award) of the framework.
Intraining is proud to be associated with the DSMTG Field Gun Crew and the RN Field Gun Competition.
