Cdre Mike Farrage CBE
Royal Navy

Chairman of the Royal Naval Field Gun Association

The Royal Navy Field Gun spectacle enjoys a proud heritage and
epitomises the Naval Service core values and standards of courage,
commitment, discipline, respect for others, integrity and loyalty. It is
one of the few public events that clearly demonstrate the Royal Navy's
ethos and contributors that make up the moral component of operational
capability.

I admire the qualities, dedication and team spirit that all Field
Gunners display aspiring to be the best. I also want to make special
mention of the volunteer executive committee, trainers, judges, and time
keepers that enable Field Gun to be enjoyed across the country, from the
annual tournament in HMS COLLINGWOOD, through the Windsor and Edinburgh
Military Tattoos, to the ever growing popularity of the Junior Leaders
competition.

Royal Navy Field Gun continues to go from strength to strength, and I look forward to hearing all about another successful season whilst I am deployed for the year in Afghanistan.
